Adelaide is the capital city of our beloved South Australia. It’s the country’s fifth biggest city too, and it’s full of history, wine and food growing regions, and spectacular outdoors.
Take the bus to the heart of the city and visit The Adelaide Botanic Gardens. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing stroll, and you can grab a cuppa after in the garden’s café.
For spectacular views of the city, make your way to Motefiore Hill. It’s also worth visiting at night for even greater views of Adelaide. Other lookouts you should stop by are Windy Point along Belair Road and Skye at Kensington Road.
Adelaide has some great museums too. Spend an afternoon going through the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Gawler Museum, the South Australian Maritime Museum, and Glenelg Museum. See Adelaide’s green side and travel to the city’s national parks. There’s Belair National Park where you can go bushwalking. The Cleland Conservation Park is a perfect spot for meeting wildlife. Walk among kangaroos, wallabies, and other animals, and don’t forget to have your picture taken with a huggable koala. Lastly, Morialta Conservation Park is where you’ll see numerous walking trails, waterfalls, and panoramic views of Adelaide.
If you still want more time with Mother Nature, stop by the Bicentennial Conservatory to experience a tropical rainforest right here in Adelaide. Soak the sun at West Beach, Glenelg Beach, and Henley Beach too.
Take a piece of Adelaide back home with you and go shopping next. Spend some time, and some dollars, browsing through Rundle Mall, the Tea Tree Plaza, and Harbour Town. Foodies can go spend their money at The Central Market and the Chinatown nearby.
