What you should know
The best time to visit Xi’an is during the spring and autumn seasons. Spring from March until May is when you can enjoy the best weather for outdoor activities and exploring the city. Autumn from September to November is when you can enjoy cool weather and see the vibrant changing colours of the trees. Winter from December to February is also a great time to visit if you love to the snow and skiing. Plus, it’s Xi’an’s off-season, which means there are fewer tourists and cheaper rates.
Most people don’t speak English in Xi’an, so it’s best that you bring good Mandarin Chinese phrasebook if you don’t speak the language.
